Chapter 07 · Verification

Wallet and KYC: walk the verification row before the first stake.

The deposit window and the withdrawal window are run by separate teams on most platforms. KYC is the bridge between them. Walk it before your first stake, not after a win.

The five-step verification row

  1. Phone and PAN. Bind a phone number that you actually answer. PAN is the standard KYC document on real-money ludo platforms. The PAN must match the name on the bank account you intend to use for deposits and withdrawals.
  2. Bank or UPI. Add a bank account in your own name, or a UPI handle linked to that bank. Avoid third-party handles. Mismatched names are the most common reason withdrawals stall.
  3. Selfie match. Hold PAN next to your face in good light. Mismatches are the most common reason KYC stalls. A second attempt usually costs a day of waiting.
  4. Deposit trial. Send a small amount, withdraw it back, and check how long the round-trip takes. The trial is the cheapest insurance you have against a surprise payout delay.
  5. Set a daily limit. Most apps let you set a daily deposit cap inside responsible-play settings. Do this before you play. The limit is a number you can change later; it is not a binding contract.

Why the deposit window and the withdrawal window differ

Deposit is automated

Most platforms run deposits through UPI with a pre-set merchant handle. The credit is usually instant. The same path on the same platform handles thousands of deposits per hour. Failure modes are rare and surface as a clear error code.

Withdrawal is reviewed

Withdrawals are routed through a manual or semi-manual review on most platforms, even when UPI is the destination. The review exists to catch mismatched KYC, suspicious bonus patterns and tax-form gaps. The review is the reason withdrawal is slower than deposit.

Where this comes from

KYC requirements follow the MeitY / PROG Act 2025 framework and the standard PAN-plus-selfie pattern observed on the major Indian platforms as of August 2026. Daily-limit figures are platform defaults and vary; check the in-app settings page for the exact value on your platform.
