1v1 ludo: two colours, no alliances, cleanest skill test.
1v1 is the cleanest skill test on the menu. Two colours, no alliance to lean on, an eight-to-twelve minute match, and one rule change worth memorising: most 1v1 rule cards skip the bonus roll on capture.

Why 1v1 is the cleanest skill test
Two colours and no alliance. Every cut is on you. Every safe square is your cover or your trap. The match ends when one player has all four tokens home; no teammate can rescue a stalled token and no opponent can hide behind a third colour.
The bonus-roll-skip rule is the one most beginners miss. In 1v1, cutting an opponent does not give you an extra roll on most rule cards. That cuts the swing out of the format. The dice still decide the cuts, but the rolls do not compound. Read the rule card before your first stake.

Where this comes from
Match lengths and bonus-roll rules come from the public rule cards on three Indian apps as of August 2026. The skill-test framing is editorial and reflects the lack of alliance effects in 1v1. Rake ranges were observed on lobby screens in August 2026.

Figures and rules on this page come from arithmetic on a fair six-faced die, public platform rule cards, and MeitY / PROG Act 2025 notifications. Where house rules differ, the platform's published rule card supersedes this page.
