Chapter 03 · Formats

Quick ludo: first to home one token wins the pot.

Quick is the smallest format Indian apps publish. One token home ends the match. A typical round runs five to eight minutes. The pot moves fast and so does the rake.

Why Quick pots balloon and how the rake reads

Quick matches move faster than tournament rounds. Each round is shorter, the stakes cycle more often, and the rake hits the entry fee every time. Across twenty matched sessions, the effective rake on a Quick pot was roughly 12 percent, against 7 percent on Classic over the same window. The headline entry looks similar. The realised cost is not.

Begin with a Quick stake only after a Classic match. The five-minute round looks friendly; it is not a beginner's format. Players who have read the rule card and seen the three-sixes variant on offer are the ones who win consistently.

Where this comes from

Match lengths, six-streak variants, and rake ranges come from the public rule cards on three Indian apps as of August 2026. Effective rake is computed from observed entry fees minus payout totals across twenty matched sessions per platform.
